One of the longest running musicals on Broadway, “Fiddler on the Roof” this time met the audience on the most magnificent stage of Istanbul. It is performed in the Harbiye Stage in the scope of Istikbal Open Air Concerts.
At the end of weeks of rehearsals, about 50 artists and live orchestras were all together on stage. There are 29 players and 33 musicians in the crew, which includes Mehmet Ali Kaptanlar, Binnur Kaya, Defne Koldaş, Ceren Gündoğdu, Derman Çinkılıç, Ayşe Nur Köksal, Sidel Mizrahi, Aysan Sümercan, Anıl Altınöz, Özgür Çevik and Selçuk Borak.
Mehmet Ergen, one of the most famous directors of Turkish theater, has translated and directed the project with his own interpretation. The decor and costume design of the musical which will cause a visual feast with costumes more than 300 prepared by Behlüldane Tor and Gül Sağer. The light design and choreographer of this version of the musical are entrusted to the British: Richard Williamson and Anthony Whiteman.
In addition to Ezgi Erol, who has translated the lyrics into this project, the Chromas Choir, one of the most distinguished choirs in our country and also on the front burner with their international works, has brought a breath of fresh air to the project.
The Fiddler on the Roof, which is one of the most frequently played and most frequently staged musicals of all time, has been translated; and exhilarated Harbiye with rhythm and melody.
